Hi everyone, I’m Laura, the founder of Luna Verde Design!

In this blog you will find the meaning of my artwork, how I get inspired and how I want to use this gift to communicate my life experiences and how God works through them.
a little story about me, I was born and raised in Santa Marta, Colombia where my love and passion for making art began. When I was 8 I was able to scrape together enough money to buy materials to make beaded jewelry that I sold to friends and family. After high school I began studying graphic design at a university in my hometown but unfortunately had to quit my studies since the private university became unaffordable for my situation at the time. I later studied psychology at the public university in town which was much more affordable and that’s when I met my husband from the United States. After almost two years we got married and moved to the US.
The beach I grew up going to just minutes from my house in Colombia
My first several years in the US were so challenging adjusting to a new culture and learning a new language. I experienced a lot of frustration as I bounced around between several jobs I didn’t enjoy and it felt like there wasn’t much opportunity for me here.
Then around February of 2020 I came across the idea to make clay jewelry. I hopped right in and made my first few pieces and after posting them to Facebook I was overwhelmed with the positive feedback from friends and family which gave me the impulse to officially start Luna Verde in April 2020!
It is a dream come true to be able to work full time creating art and being able to share that with you all.
Thanks for taking the time to read and know me better, I would love to hear about you!
